EVENT IS CANCELLED
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic we haven’t been promoting out event like we usually do. Since our race is held in September we have decided to hold off until July time frame to see where we are at with this. The food and tricky trays will also be decided by this time. We do have order deadlines that need to be met with awards and shirts. We also haven’t reached out to any sponsors because we all know that the small businesses are not even open and are hurting financially right now.
A few things i wanted to mention:
If you preregistered and the event is canceled, we will reimburse your cost or transfer your registration to next year’s race.
If it can not be held as a group event, We are thinking about possibly doing this race virtually. Where each participant gets to walk or run a 4.3 mile distance at their leisure. (further details in future if that happens) We will discuss this option along with other possibilities during our time of quarantine.
We would love to hold the race in any safe way as it has become our biggest fundraiser for our organization and its great for our community.
Remember, We are all in this together and one day put Corona-virus behind us.

Nuremberg-Weston Volunteer Fire Company invites you to the
4th Annual Give It Hell Run/Walk 7K
Saturday, Sept. 12, 2020 from 9 a.m. until noon

LOCATION: The start/finish line will be at the Nuremberg-Weston Volunteer Fire Company, 459 Hazle Street, Weston, PA 18256. Race Director: Doug Demshock, (570)751-3162 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
DETAILS: Registration is from 7-8:45 am. Run/walk starts at 9 am. There will be a children’s 1 mile fun run immediately following the 7K. The first 50 pre-registered participants are guaranteed to receive a t-shirt. All others will receive a t-shirt on a first come first serve basis. Race will be timed and scored by Insta-Results. Event will be held rain or shine. No refunds or mailed awards. Shirts will be distributed the day of the event.
COURSE: Primarily a road course with gentle hills and flat areas. Route travels through the towns of Nuremberg and Weston.
AWARDS: Separate awards for the overall top male and female winners. Plus, 3 male & female for the following age groups: 14 & under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60 and up. Also, awards for the top 3 male & female Emergency Responders.
ENTRY: $20 if postmarked by August 5, 2020 or if you are a first responder. Afterwards, including race day, $25. Entrance fee for all walkers is $15 and the children’s 1 mile fun run is free. About the course:
The 4.3 mile race course consist of downhills, uphills, and flats. It will start at 9 am at our firehouse (459 Hazle St.) and head into Nuremberg via Hazle St. (.8)miles, then turn left onto Mahanoy St. For (.7)miles, turn left and continue onto Weston Rd for (1.3) miles, turn left onto Center St. (.2) miles,turn left onto Main St. (.3) miles, make right at Line St.(.1) mile, make right onto Market St. (.1) mile, , turn left onto Derringer St. (.1) mile, then fiinally turning left back onto Hazle St. for the final (.7) miles.
